La Plata Community Fire Protection District

About Us
A professional, volunteer based organization
The La Plata Community Fire Protection District was established in 2003, when the City of La Plata Fire Department and La Plata Rural Fire Department combined to better serve the community. The LCFPD covers 175+ square miles of rural northeast Missouri in Macon and Adair County. Including the City of La Plata and multiple small communities in the surrounding area. The LCFPD currently consists of one fire station, 26 members, and 7 apparatus. LCFPD personnel are dispatched to 300+ incidents per year. The LCFPD regularly works with the Kirksville Fire Department, Atlanta Volunteer Fire Department, Adair County Rural Fire Department, Macon County Rescue Squad, Macon County Ambulance District, and Adair County Ambulance District. At the LCFPD, we are commited to providing the best possible services to our citizens, neighbors, and visitors.
Community Engagement
The LCFPD takes great pride in being engaged with the community. Attending events such as the "Meet the Responders" held during the La Plata Soybean Festival, visiting La Plata R-II Schools during Fire Prevention Week, leading the La Plata Soybean Festival Parade, the La Plata High School Homecoming Parade, and attending any other public events we are requested to attend.
